Clare Tosoni: The Original Brewery Queen
(And Why We Jump Early)
At Aspire, we love that moment when we see something (or someone) special brewing (pun intended)!
That’s how we like to work: on the pulse, at the fringe, always one step ahead.
Clare Tosoni is one of those artists!
This year’s fair season is full of bold Brisbane icons and nostalgic nods to the places we know and love. Clare was capturing that local spirit long before it was everywhere. Her playful and pop-coloured artworks — from classic pubs to sun-soaked suburban streets — struck a chord with collectors last year. She sold out before the end of Day 2 at the Brisbane Affordable Art Fair in May 2024. (We actually had to send her home to paint more. That’s not a flex, just a fun fact.)
That’s what gets us excited: seeing an artist’s work resonate so deeply and quickly with the public. Clare’s take on Brisbane wasn’t just timely — it was honest, vibrant, and totally her own.
The XXXX Brewery series in particular? Clare was flooded with commission requests...
Clare’s work isn’t only visually iconic — it’s accessible, collectible, and priced for both new art lovers and seasoned collectors.
We pride ourselves on spotting early trends, seeing Artists experiment at the edges — and giving them the platform to flourish and grow. Discovering talent who speak to the now (and the next)!
Clare joins us as one of 55 incredible artists we’re showcasing at this year’s Brisbane Affordable Art Fair — bringing back her iconic Brisbane charm and colour-packed style that had collectors clamouring last year. Alongside her, we are presenting a handpicked lineup of emerging and established talent from across Australia — all with stunning but affordable work that captures the now (and what’s next).
